KayDee and Jason’s wedding felt like a long time coming to many of us. It felt this way to me because I met these two for the first time back in 2014, when I shot their engagement session; when they booked me for their 2016 wedding at the time, the day itself seemed so far away.

I wasn’t the only one who felt this way – KayDee and Jason have dated since they were in high school, so their family and friends seemed to always know this day was eventually coming. Thus, everyone seemed more than ready by the time it arrived. In her toast, KayDee’s sister, Lindsey, described the moment that occurred many years ago when her younger sister told her about this cute, country boy she had a thing for. KayDee and Jason met when they were young, and they grew up together – they both are grown with jobs now, they have their own place in Galesburg, and they have two dogs that were very excited to see them on their wedding day. They went through the growing pains and the changes that occur when we’re teenagers followed by those in our early twenties, and they went through them alongside one another.

So as the countdown to their wedding day dwindled, it was as if you could feel their excitement growing – without even being near them in this time, it was easy to imagine just how ready they must have been to make these vows to one another, these vows that were years in the making.
